Modernization of Lower Cretaceous deep wells along with technical infrastructure and fiber optic cable.

The new water intake will reach the upper aquifer layer to a depth of 620 meters. Filling well 1bis is a drill which is made in place of a basic well, intended for liquidation – it is not suitable for further use or is excluded from use. The filling well, after its completion, will become a basic well.

Modernization of Lower Cretaceous deep wells

A new deep well on ul. Bławatna - project co-financed by the European Union.

Investor: Łódzka Spółka Infrastrukturalna z o.o.

Duration: from August 2018 to December 2019.

Additional technical data:

  • Inside the well - filters, the task of which is to limit the inflow of mechanical impurities  (such as sand, particles of other materials) to the well are installed in the depth of 460 m to 620 m, DN250 mm.
  • The "Dąbrowa" water pipeline, part of which will be a deep water well drilled by PeBeKa, has been operating for over 60 years and is the largest and oldest waterworks in Łódź.
  • The "Dąbrowa" water pipeline extracts water from 13 wells from 120 to over 900 meters deep from Quaternary, Upper and Lower Chalks.

Location

Project outline

Currently, the citizens of Łódź use water from 33 deep wells that are located in the city. Water extracted by 20 of them is of good quality so that it does not require treatment. Deep wells in Łódź reach the layers located at a depth from several dozen meters to even 300-900.

Greatest challenges

Draining DN250 filters and their graveling .

Key moment

Trial pumping to determine the optimal flow with which the well can be operated.
