PeBeKa built underground workshop

570 metres underground, in the Lubin Mine, Przedsiębiorstwo Budowy Kopalń PeBeKa built and equipped a heavy machinery chamber, where inspections and repairs of mining machines will be made.

The chamber built in accordance with the newest EU standards is 400 metres long. Its area houses e.g. two electric hoists and tire changers. Inside the chamber, PeBeKa employees made seven inspection and repair pits, and built an overhead crane the runway of which is over a hundred metres long. In addition, the facility was furnished e.g. with grinders, drills, a lathe, a post crane, equipment removing dust and filtering welding gases. The chamber also features security systems, such as alarms and visual signalling devices.

The heavy machinery chamber is a place for repairing and inspecting machines inside the mine. It is also used as a parking space for the machinery and equipment that is not currently being used. The chamber construction lasted two and a half years; the chamber was handed over for operation before the deadline.
